Tech giant Apple to donate to flood relief efforts

Tech giant Apple CEO, Tim Cook, on Wednesday announced the company will donate to relief and recovery efforts in Pakistan following the flood devastation in the country.
"The floods in Pakistan and surrounding areas are devastating humanitarian disasters. Our thoughts are with those that have lost loved ones, the many displaced families, and all those affected. Apple will donate to relief and recovery efforts on the ground," Said Time Cook.

The $2.5 trillion company head, said the floods are "devastating humanitarian disasters" and added that "our thoughts" are with those who lost loved ones and all those affected.
unprecedented monsoon rains have wreaked havoc across Pakistan as the death toll has crossed 1,200, inundated more than 70 percent of the country, destroyed millions of acres of ready crops.
The country received about 190% more rainfall than the 30-year average in the quarter through August this year, with a total of 390.7 mm (15.38 in). Sindh province, with a population of 50 million, was the worst hit, with 466 percent more rain than the 30-year average.
Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal thanked Cook for his support, urging the G-7, Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OCED) and Fortune 100 to help Pakistan.
“Thanks for the support. Pakistan with the lowest carbon emission is facing the brunt of global warming with 33 million people displaced for no fault,” said Iqbal.
